Whether you are new to skating or you were born with skates on it is always a fun time at the Emera Oval. Th ere are several free skating times open throughout the day for you to enjoy this great and free outdoor activity. Once you are done warm up with hot chocolate and a beaver tail to round out your perfect date.
Dine Around Halifax
Each year in February downtown Halifax takes part in the “Dine Around” event when restaurants offer delicious curated menus. These fixed price menus vary in costs from $10 to $50 and offer delicious deals not offered other times of the year. While the restaurants still offer their regular full menus during the event as well, some also donate a portion of their Dine Around menu to Feed Nova Scotia as well. From full three course meals to deals for two, deals including drinks and menu options highlighting vegan or gluten free options, their website lists all of the offers HERE. Enjoy the Poutine Fest
If you are looking for less fancy of a dining experience on Valentine’s Day in Halifax then the Poutine Fest might be what you are looking for. Taking place in Halifax and the Annapolis Valley from Feb 1 to Feb 15 various restaurants are offering traditional poutines, unique and crazy poutines and insane poutine concoctions during the poutine fest. Visit one restaurant for a meal, or share your poutines and make multiple stops or turn it into a fun poutine road trip. While it isn’t located downtown it is still technically in Halifax. Book a night away at the new Nalu Retreat and Spa. These gorgeous glamping domes are located in Porter’s Lake, Nova Scotia just a 35minute drive away from downtown Halifax. They make the perfect getaway for Valentine’s Day. Get some private alone time together, enjoy your own hot tub and you can even book in room massages. You can take a short hike, relax in nature by the outdoor fire pit with gorgeous views overlooking Porter’s Lake and more. Have a fun day exploring the city. Stop into Underground Snax on Barrington Street and stock up on delicious treats. Single for Valentine’s Day in Halifax? For those still looking for love get out there on Valentine’s day and head to a singles mixer.
