Visit one of the newest tiny home properties in No Visit one of the newest tiny home properties in Nova Scotia with me! This is the Watervale Springs Retreat @wvsretreat in Salt Springs, Nova Scotia (Pictou County). Opened in November 2024 they have 3 tiny homes on property. Cabins 1 & 3 sleep two people each in comfy King beds and Cabin 2 sleeps up to four having a King bed and Murphy bed. Each tiny home has its own BBQ, fire table, and private deck. Inside they have kitchenettes with an air fryer and induction cooktop as well as a coffee and tea bar and full sized bathrooms. Located in the woods far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life it is a gorgeous place to relax and disconnect. There is however wifi and tv though of course. When staying here you can opt for add on packages which can include breakfast items, a movie night package with popcorn, drinks and snacks and even a charcuterie package. Nearby there are several farm stands and convenience stores or New Glasgow and Stellarton are just 20mins away by car. There you can find all major grocery stores, pharmacies and great restaurants like @shoeboxcantina and @bluelobsterpublichouse as well as the @ngfarmmarket. For the summer months the tiny homes are only about 30-35 min from Pictou and Melmerby beach, the warmest beach in Nova Scotia. They are also just as close to the ferry terminal to PEI which makes them a great place to stay before or after visiting the island. Be sure to check them out this spring or summer for a wonderful getaway or staycation! February was such a BUSY month as I travelled up a February was such a BUSY month as I travelled up and down the South Shore of Nova Scotia for the @novascotialobstercrawl. Filled with tons of great lobster, good food and fun times! It was also an extremely snowy February compared to recent February’s that made things a bit more difficult. 1. A cute headband I tried on at the @wildflowermakery lobster market at the @thequarterdeckresort that I wish I had got! 2. Lucy from @visitbarrington in a snowstorm. 3. @kiltedchefalain serving up tasty lobster rolls at the @desbrisaymuseum for the @novascotia.loyal Valentines Day Lobster dinner. 4. Lobster chowder with brie cooked in by the Kilted Chef! 5. A fun lobster astronaut shirt by @wanderinggriffinbookhouse 6. An adorable lobster and Nova Scotia flag bag made out old sailboat sails by @windbagcompanyofns 7. Lobster afternoon tea at the @bluenoselodge 8. The @novascotialobstercrawl Chowder competition at the @blackloyalistheritagecentre in @discovershelburnecounty 9. 5 delicious chowder samples from the South Shore 10. I recently was invited to one of my favourite spot I recently was invited to one of my favourite spots @valleyskyglamping to enjoy a 3 course meal prepared by Red Seal @chefkerinadykstra right in my dome!! {AD} Chef Kerina came pre-prepared and also cooked a few items hot and fresh using the domes amenities and outdoor BBQ. First we were treated to: “East Coast” Hoisin Glazed Halibut Sushi with Cilantro Slaw & Mango Microgreens Salad, 2nd course was “Land ~ Herb Crusted Venison Medallions & Sea” ~ Seared Scallops with Maple Butter Pickled Carrot, Zucchini Rings, Parsnip Garlic Purée & Onion Crisps. Finished with dessert! “Under the Stars” Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Gateau, Maple Cheesecake Cloud & Dark Cherry Gelée Pumpkin Seed Praline Dust. This is a great add on luxury experience for your stay in a Geodesic Glamping Dome or the Orchard Cabin at Valley Sky Glamping. Dinner for two starts at $300 and is fully customizable as per your preferences with the chef. She will also provide wine pairing suggestions for you to bring. Valley Sky is located in Wolfville, NS just down the road from Luckett’s Vineyard in the middle of Nova Scotia’s wine country. [AD] Located on Agricola street in the north end of Halifax it is the city’s first boutique hotel. They are contactless check in and have 16 rooms. 8 with king beds and 8 with Queens. The rooms are available as short hotel stays, airbnbs and long term stays too. The property also has a great salon below it @louiehfx, @obsoleterecords and @bramble.hfx a tasty vegan cafe. Located a few blocks from the Hydrostone, two blocks from @barkismet, a block from @almonakhalifax and tons of other great spots and many craft beer breweries in the area like @smokehouseagricola @goodrobotrobie @unfilteredbrewing @chainyardcider and more!
