The longest white sand beach in Nova Scotia is Mar The longest white sand beach in Nova Scotia is Martinique Beach. This 5km crescent shaped beach is also one of the best places to go surfing in Nova Scotia.

You can surf at Martinique Beach year round and there are local companies that offer gear and board rentals as well as surfing lessons.

Although gorgeous the water there can be quite chilly however. If you plan on swimming swim within the lifeguard zone and be wary of leg cramps!

Ice cream season has begun!!! ❤️🍦 Honestly Ice cream season has begun!!! ❤️🍦

Honestly the best time of year right? One of my favourite spots in Halifax is the @dairybarhfx and they opened this week with a strawberry rhubarb soft serve! I can’t wait until they have their Mexican Chocolate flavour again. It’s sooooo good.

Where in Nova Scotia are you grabbing a fresh scoop this holiday weekend?!?!

Is it summer yet?!?! It sure felt like it today in Is it summer yet?!?! It sure felt like it today in some parts of Nova Scotia!!

I can’t wait for the ocean to warm up so I can get out there and enjoy our many beaches like this one where you can walk out to the lighthouse at low tide!

This is the Sandy Point Beach and Lighthouse in Shelburne, NS. Be sure to add it to your list of spots to visit this summer on your Nova Scotian road trip! ❤️🏝

I love the increasing amount of street art in Hali I love the increasing amount of street art in Halifax thanks to the @downtownhalifax #grittytopretty campaign. We have so many great pieces now, that @argyle_fine_art even has a great walking tour to show you some of the very best!

Unfortunately sometimes though street art isn’t always permanent and this gorgeous piece on the corner of Barrington and South street will be torn down soon as will the gorgeous fish and candy mural by Freak Lunchbox further up on Barrington Street. Get out to see them while you can!!

BURGER BASH IS COMING! Originally #burgerweek it BURGER BASH IS COMING!

Originally #burgerweek it’s now celebrated over 10 days and has rebranded to @hfxburgerbash brought to you by @thecoasthalifax in support of @feednovascotia. This year it takes place from April 28 - May 7, 2022.

There are over 130 burgers available this year all over HRM. A couple weeks ago I had the chance to sample 5 of them. We visited @thegardenhalifax @harvestcleaneats @econshoeshop @lotsixbar and @blacksheephfx (Scroll to the last image for a description of them all)

They were all amazing! But my favourites were definitely the pulled pork at the Garden and Mushroom Swiss from the Black Sheep. Hickory sticks are the best!

I can’t wait to try a few more!! Tell me what you are excited to try and your favourites!!

The locals know the common phrase for visiting Peg The locals know the common phrase for visiting Peggy’s Cove “Stay off the black rocks.” Not only can they be slippery but the ocean at their edge can also be ferocious and unpredictable. Put the slippery rocks and rogue waves together and unfortunately terrible things can happen. Once you fall in at Peggy’s Cove it’s near impossible to get back out and the ocean can be quite cold. People have lost their lives visiting this iconic and beautiful site by falling in and unfortunately last week it happened again. Please when you visit read the warning signs, pay attention and stay back from the black rocks, it’s not worth the risk. Also if you see people ignoring this well known advice yell out to them and hopefully you can save a life before it’s too late.

I’m not meaning to discourage anyone Peggy’s Cove is gorgeous and you should definitely visit and enjoy it, climb all over the large granite boulders, take cool photographs, see the iconic lighthouse and enjoy the fresh air. But just be careful and aware. ❤️
